The Mt. Geum is the most famous mountain in the South as Hallyeo Haesang National Park and it is also known as soul mountain.
The fantastic rocks and stones of 38 famous spots with many legends look like Mt. Geumgang so it is also known as small Mt. Geumgang or Namhae's Mt. Geumgang. As Lee Seong-gye, King Taejo, Mt. Bogwang was renamed as Mt. Geum. Next to the Boriam, there are Sambul Rock and Joseon Taejo Prayer Altar. (Scenic spots and places of historic interest No. 39)

The Mt. Geum is a miracle mountain where Taejo Lee Seong-gye built Joseon Dynasty after 100 days of prayer.
As it looks like the entire mountain is covered with a silk, Mt. Bogwang was renamed as Mt. Geum. There's Boriam, the one of three player spot of our country, which Great Master Wonhyo established, and the sunrise of Mt. Geum is more than the words can express

2nd attractionNamhae Bridge and Chungnyeolsa

The Namhae Bridge, which was established in June 22, 1973, is a 660m long beautiful suspension bridge, which connects Namhae-gun and Hadong-gun.

This is where Lee Sun-Sin's Battle of Noryang was and the sunset between the islands is spectacular and the cherry tree roads are beautiful in the spring.

This is a shrine located in Noryang-ri, Seolcheon-myeon to honor the glorious achievement of Lee Sun-Sin, who fought and died at the Battle of Noryang, which was the last battle during the Imjin war.

The Sangju Beach with a magnificent view of Mt. Geum as a background is the most beautiful getaway spot in south coast. The sand beach along the circular ocean beach where natural trees and rocks defense the waves! The Sangju Beach with the nation's best sand is wooded with 100 years old pines so it has been spotlighted as the summer vacation spot.

The Sangju Beach, which is 22km south from Namhae-eup, has easy sand slop and high water temperature, so it has the best qualities as vacation spot for families with children. Jump into the water of Sangju after a walk at Mt. Geum

The red pretty Changseon Bridge along with bamboo weirs is fabulous. The Changseon Bridge is established on Jijok Strait where high and low tide goes out and was opened on December 20, 1995 as a 440 m cable-stayed concrete bridge, which connects Changseon-myeon and Samdong-myeon.

The Changseon Bridge collapsed in 1993 a few days before the collapse of Seongsu Bridge so this is one of sad memory for people in Namhae.

The Admiral Lee's remains, located on the coast of Gwangeum-po, is where Admiral Lee Sun-sin's coffin first laid on the land. The Admiral's 8th grandchild, Lee Hang-kwon, gathered and had memorial service in 1832 (Sunjo 32), 234 years after Admiral passed away, and placed a tombstone and monument house and it is called Irak Temple.

The Admiral's theater is the nations' first domed stereoscopic theater with 138 seats and showrooms with spirits of Admiral Lee Sun-sin and the history of Japanese Invasion.

Gacheon male and female rocks and southern coast

These are 5.8 m tall rocks; the female rock looks like a pregnant woman and the male rock looks like the male's sexual organs.

These rocks were found during Yeongju's 27th year and are located outside of Donggu on the seashore of Gacheon Town and these are called 'Ammireuk' and 'Sumireuk'. These rocks are known as the object of faith to the village people as they have a tradition to pray for the peace and big catch on October 23 of every year in front of these rocks. Nodo, Remains of Seopo Kimmanjung

The Nodo is the last place of exile for Seopo Kim Man-jung, the author of 'Guunmong' the classic novel from Joseon Era, and place where Yu Bae-jung died at age of 56. Currently, there are grass-roofed house, fountain and graves. Seopo Kim Man-jung wrote 'Sa-ssi-nam-jeong-gi', 'Seo-po-man-pil', 'Jo-bi-jeong-gyeong-bu-in-haeng-jang', and 'Ju-ja-chan-yo' in Namhae and also left numerous Chinese poems. The No Island, located in Byeokryeon-ri, Sangju-myeon, which is the entrance of Aenggang Bay, is known as the famous fishing place with excellent view of coast.

Songjeong Solbaram Beach

The Songjeong Solbaram Beach with shade of pine trees is the 2nd largest beach in the Namhae. This beach has unspoiled nature as it is.

This beach is located 5km south of Sangju Beach and the soft silver sand and clear sea water is very famous.

The Songjeong Hansol Village is designated as green rural farm experimental village so you can enjoy the life of rural and farm.

9th attractionMt. Mangun and Hwabang Temple

Mt. Mangun and Hwabang Temple

Mt. Mangun is the about 786m above seal level and is the tallest mountain in Namhae. This is where most mountain climbers are in as azaleas have filled the top of the mountain.

It takes about an hour and half from Hwabang Temple to the top of the mountain.

The Great Master Wonhyo established Yeonjuk Temple in Yeongjuk, Seomyeon but most reverend priest Jingak moved it to Daegye-ri, Gohyeon-myeon and renamed it as Yeongjang Temple but it was about to be destroyed during Japanese Invasion but was repaired by the disciples of Buddhist Master Seosan, Gyewon and Yeongcheol and renamed as Hwabang Temple in Injo's 15th year (1637).

A semi-circular dense forest with a million trees, as a windbreak forest on 1.5km beach in Mulgeon-ri, Samdong-myeon, is forming magnificent sight.

The magnificent view of Namhae Island's east coast, which connects Mulgeon town and Mijo town, forms exquisite harmony with the mountains and sea and it has been spotlighted as the best driving course with Gacheon Costal Road.

In addition, Mijo Port located on the southern tip of Mulmil Costal Road is known as the largest fishing port in Namhae where you can enjoy sashimi at a low price.

11th attractionMt. Hogu and Yongmun Temple

The Mt. Hogu, the Namhae County Park, is about 672m above seal level and you can mount in 40 minutes from Yongmun Temple in Yongso-ri, Idong-myeon and Idong-myeon Dajeong Reservoir. For a little longer course, you can mount in an hour and 10 minutes if you start from Aenggang Hill Mt. Seolheul
Mt. Hogu and Yongmun Temple

The Yongmun Temple located in Mt. Hogu is the largest and oldest temple in Namhae.

The clean water of Mt. Hogo's valley looks like a tiger is lied down and it is flow into the linn where a dragon ascended into heaven.

Yongmun Temple is known as second Bogwang Temple established by Buddhist Master Wonhyo during Silla Dynasty.

The Changseon-Samcheonpo grand Bridge, which became Korea's top tourist attraction established in April 28, 2003, is 3.4km long bridge, which connected 3 islands by 5 bridges between Changseon Island and Samcheonpo in Namhae.

All five bridges present unique characteristics as it were made of different construction methods.
