'Barae' is the local term that people of Namhae use to refer to the work of catching and collecting sea lettuce, seaweed, conches and other seafood that Namhae mothers did when the tide is low to support their families. And the term, 'barae-gil' is the road that those women used to get to their 'work site'.

Namhae Barae-gil Trail embodies the joys and sorrows of mothers in Namhae and as you walk along the trail routes, you will be able to feel that heart-warming motherly love and the special feeling of love and compassion Koreans call 'Jeong'.
